Despite a high demand for education, this region of Ghana had only four secondary schools for 11,049 potential students. St. John’s was established in 2014 in response to this need. Even so, 36% of girls aged 15 and older have never attended school. The infrastructure must keep up with demand. The Diocese of Tamale, Ghana is working to do this by building a dormitory that will expand access to housing – and thus education – for 80 additional girls attending St. John’s.
